Our Nursing Care

We provide exceptional nursing care for people with both simple and complex needs.

Areas of professional care include stroke or neurological injury, physical disability and long-term conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, arthritis, cardio or respiratory illness. We also specialise in cognitive needs including all stages of dementia (Link to dementia care page here).

We are highly-experienced at caring for residents with one or more medical conditions, and adapting for common difficulties in other areas such as hearing and mobility.

Our care offering is also very suited to people without a specific medical condition, but who have become frailer and want to enjoy their independence in a comfortable and supportive environment, with high-quality cooked meals and facilities.

Relationship-centred care:

We value our relationship with each individual resident as fundamental to delivering the highest standards of care and comfort in a manner to be expected in their own home.

Our professional care team respect residents’ independence, choices and personal space just as they would in a private home environment. We also believe in developing meaningful relationships with family and friends who are central to their loved one’s life and wellbeing.

Our carers and nurses get to know residents very well, looking after them every day and they feel privileged to be part of their extended family.
We get to know many family members and friends by name and give them the warm welcome that our residents would expect.

We remain extremely vigilant to protect our residents, visitors and staff from the ongoing risk of COVID. With the success of the vaccine programme, we have gradually increased the number and duration of visits. We have developed a robust health and safety protocol that minimises inconvenience so visiting remains as enjoyable, frequent and comfortable as possible.

We prioritise communication between residents and their families and our team is very happy to facilitate to facilitate phone calls and ‘Zoom’ videocalls.

Our team

We work closely with a multidisciplinary team of doctors, Medicine For The Elderly Consultants, Social Workers, Dieticians, speech and Language Therapists , Physiotherapists, and other health professionals to build the ideal support structure to meet individual care needs.

Each of our homes is headed up by a senior Director of Nursing , who leads an expert clinical team of dedicated, highly-skilled professional nurses and carers, specialising in caring for older people.

Our registered nurses carefully assess the level of nursing care for each resident and tailor a unique and individual plan based on their nursing needs to ensure the highest degree of care in each one of our nursing homes.

Our care and nursing teams receive ongoing professional and personal development training to ensure we provide the very best clinical, emotional and social care within our nursing care homes.

Developing a collaborative care plan

We create a bespoke care plan for each individual resident to deliver the highest possible quality of life and excellent clinical care. These unique care packages are tailored so they can be altered quickly as their needs change.

Care plans are developed by our registered nursing professionals in conjunction with the individual resident and their family members in consultation with our multi-disciplinary medical team. This includes taking a detailed medical history, consulting GP and other professional reports as well as learning about the resident’s preferences, interests and hobbies and other important details.

Plans includes medical, physical and emotional care, nutritional requirements and preferences such as catering for vegetarian and vegan diets. It also covers essential wellbeing and happiness from physical exercise and time outdoors to intellectual stimulation and social engagement.
